In the past few months I have become slightly obsessed with succulents of all types and for one main reason: they make me feel like I have the best green thumb in the world. These plants are unique in the fact that they store water and nutrients within their leaves. If you over water them or allow the roots to soak too long in water, they will die. They can actually withstand dry spells that would normally kill other types of plant. Being perfect for warm weather (hello summer), this is my type of plant for a working gal! They are simple, yet beautiful, in their own way and continue to ‘blossom’ and grow throughout the season. I started to collect multiple pots of succulents and decided to combine them into one large pot due to limited space on my balcony. This has brought me to my first DIY tutorial and the easiest tutorial you will probably see on this blog! This is a kickoff to summer. . . Enjoy! Materials you will need: * 1 pot * soil (I used organic potting mix) * shovel * succulents (the number of succulents depends on the size of your pot) * gardening gloves *~*I found my pot on clearance at Target for $5. Who could resist that price on such a beautiful piece? Also, my succulents came from Home Depot. They ranged from the $2.00 - $4.00 range each when buying in store. Now, just work your magic! Fill your pot with dirt and then arrange your succulents to your pleasing eye. Then wipe your hands clean and find an amazing spot for your new succulents.
I told you this DIY tutorial was simple for anyone! It is more of an inspiration to get your summer started! Why, hello. You made it! Welcome to Lima Green Designs where I, Elizabeth, plan to inspire and instill creativity within your daily routines while sharing my own creations.
